Monday, Monday

I was hoping to share finished project I started while ago as part of new linky Monday Makers but I can only show you some progress. I'm undecided what flowers I will add.

So if I'm not sewing what am I doing?

I'm waiting for the right mood. Seriously, I need to be in mood to do some FMQ and I have at least two projects to quilt. In the meantime I'm dreaming about some redo since I received Ikea #bookbook. Have you seen the advert? Fun!

My husband (and camera) went to Japan and just because he is so nice he brought me some souvenir. Echino? Yes please!

We were also enjoying some bits of autumn sun.

Yeah, we went to ZOO. No suricatas in our backyard :)

Plus we visited castle called Bouzov.

Autumn also means conkers horse chestnuts. We have been picking up those all week long.

But do not worry; things are getting back to normal so I'll share some real sewing next time around.

Conkers? I think those look the same as the nuts that we call Chestnuts. Do you roast those and then eat them?

  3. A break away from the sewing machine will get your creative mind full of wonderful images, sights and sounds. So enjoy yourself.

  4. we too call the non edible ones (the ones the children string up and play with conkers) ,ie horse chestnuts and the ones that can be eaten are just known as sweet chestnuts.
I love that your word for meercats is suricatas. I am no linguist but mer and sur both relate to water don't they? They are in our local zoo also, 2 miles down the road. Enjoyed this post Vera and love the fabric

  5. The house is looking great, I think the crocheted roof is just wonderful. We too have been collectiong chestnuts and I look forward to playing conkers with some of them. The rest will undoubtedly be incorporated into some form of creation by my two little boys.

  7. Your crocheted roof is fabulous!! Beautifully done! I just picked up a hook last week after many (read decades) years. . . I have not gotten much sewing done since LOL

I had to look up conkers - as I also thought "hey those look familiar" LOL

  8. Our Ikea cover is the same here in Canada - only the text is different :) I love looking through the catalogue - so many fun ideas! I'm not that fond of the furniture, but I sure do love their knick knacks, accessories and linens etc. :) There's always really COOL fabric in the catalogue, but it's never available in our local store, and it's never available online for ordering. That makes me crazy!

I love Echino - I have several pieces, but haven't cut into it yet - it's waiting for just the right project :) LOVE meercats - they're so funny and expressive! Beautiful castle, and we call those chestnuts as well - they're popular around Christmas, but I don't think I've ever eaten them :D

  13. It was fun to see your progress and thanks for sharing the photos. I love Autumn and it was nice to see it from your part of the world. Your husband is very good at bringing you gorgeous fabrics. He should offer a workshop for other husbands, so they can do the same thing.

Your husband went to Yuzawaya, eh? I am in Kyoto at the moment, but I plan to drag my husband to one fabric shop when we get back to Tokyo.
