Scrappy WiP

Playing out with scraps. First a bit random layout. Nope.

Second try. Better but not right.

Oh no, OCD mode. I was left out with some scraps and that was definitely not my plan so I slept on it. I added few squares today and started over.

That's probably final version. No need to spend more time on it. Those squares are 2" so there won't be much left once sewed together anyway :)

I'm also working on eyes for all the animals from Elephant parade. These seems all right.

This one is a GIANT eye but it made me smile. I'll adjust that for sure.

Thank you for clarifying how to call these black things I'm using for eye pupil. I'll call them sequins from now on :)

  8. I personally love the second version--but I've been in a haphazard, crazy aesthetic mood lately. I like the one you decided upon, too. And those animals--the huge eyes are actually super adorable! They will look awesome all put together :)

  9. Loved the first layout! Perhaps you should just keep them to play with instead of fridge magnets!? Take a photo of each variation??? Great fun whatever you do with them as are those wide eyed critters. Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday

  13. I bought the elephant parade pattern because I really, really want to make a pink elephant pillow. Sigh, another on the to-do list. I like your rainbow triangle creation, will it be a pillow?

  18. Love those bright fabrics against the darker neutrals Vera! It was fun seeing you play with the layout too.
I had a good time playing with the eyes on the Elephant Parade animals too. It was funny how the slightest alteration changed their expressions. It was a lot of fun to make that quilt!

  20. Your turtle and frog are quite adorable - eyes really make the critter :D I'm glad I've been doing a bit of collecting of grey prints in the last while, although I haven't actually used any yet because I'm still in the collecting and deciding stage :D I find your grey + bright combo really striking - and fun!

  23. Maybe the turtle's eye is so big as he is surprised by the tiny size of the HSTs.
