OMG 06 - finished

As usual I finished my 06 OMG goal on the very last day. I wonder if I ever change this bad habit.

The corners are not so pretty as I made the zipper tabs and whole zipper longer that I should have.

Back side is without any zippers.

Here is size comparison with my phone. This bag is mainly intended for my phone and keys. Colours are a bit off. Taking pictures on full sun is not the smartest idea.

There is zippered pocket inside as well. I simply wanted to use the material from original bag I was re-doing since it was already worn out. Extra pocket is always a good idea :)

My girls both said they need one too. Oh my. I better find my sewjo somewhere.

OMG - 05

Welcome in the woods. I'm not really creative these days I'm rather outside instead. I spent more time in the woods than I do with my machine.

My May OMG goal is a bag redo. I wanted to make a sort of bag just for my phone and keys. It has been on my list since last year. OMG! See the old pic below. Yiikes.

Now it's the right time! I have previously disassembled the bag so I'm already on my way :) I currently wear this one but I aim for smaller size.

I will also continue walking. Here are my April achievements. I only turn the tracker on for walks. I'm over 100km and 220K steps. We'll see how it goes in May. It's kind of new hobby.

But mostly I love the sun :)

The nature is changing every day. Everything is growing and I enjoy it very much.

Crossbody bag

Finally I made a new bag for my teenage daughter. I promised to make it a long time ago.

It was difficult to choose the fabric. She didn't want colorful bag since she wants to put some pins on the front.

There are three pockets on the front and I added just a bit of color to match the strap. Unfortunately we haven't found matching zipper with strap but the silver teeth on black fits just right.

There is only one pocket inside. The size is for larger sketch pads or book. The pattern is simple from one piece. It's kind of giant pouch, no side panels. You can check the progress pics over on my instagram.

I usually add extra batting to the bottom. Once quilted it forms the bag nicely.

Tablet bag

At the end of school year we gave our girl new tablet. Larger than the old version so it didn't fit into the previously made cover. As she wanted to take it with her for vacation travelling I made her bag for it.

At first I only wanted to make some sort of pouch. While searching for suitable fabric I found these old panels. They were probably made for some sort of bag.

Firstly I sewed both panels together into one piece. I only quilted simple lines to hold it together with batting. It ended up pretty large so I changed my plans and made a bag instead. 

I placed large pocket out of polar fleece inside to hold the tablet. There are also two smaller pocket for headphones and power adapter. Otherwise the bag can hold few more essentials.

The zipper part can be pulled up if desired. It was a bit improve bag making just before we left for vacation. Here are few bit and pieces from local adventure.

Something fun for kids. Some outdoors.

The 100 day project - part 5

Those of you who follow me on Instagram already seen my word board. It's a great addition and makes taking photos easier and stylish.

As per usual I make these pouches out of one piece so no seam at the bottom.

Each one is different. I made some zipper pulls out of scraps too.

Some also have some funky lining.

Does anyone remember the elephant from my old Echino bag?

I put it together with some other scraps and made a gift for teacher.

Hopefully she'll like it.

There are few more pouches before this 100 day project is over ..

Q2 - Echino bag

Have you noticed May? Somehow it passed me by. Never mind we have June. I finally made my bag and I'm already using it. I can finally tick off first project from my Q2 list.

I actually just made the top and reused the inside. My favorite old bag just needed a face lift. I used the old zippers and handle too. You can see first version of this bag here.

See the old pink lining? It still looks fine even after washing.

Zippers fits well too.

The reason I replaced the old fabric was that it got all worn out. I haven't used any particular pattern. It is simple messenger type of bag.

The new addition I made are front pockets.

Just right for my work keys and sunglasses.

Hot pink details are still my fav thing.

2018 FAL Q1 list

Time to make the list for Q1. Here is mine:

Some projects are new. Some are pretty old.

I started paper tin covers. I made one as trial and pretty much love it.

Prairie point pouches are my current OMG goal.

I precut some fabrics and vinyl in December. Time to finish those vinyl pouches.

Pig cushion to be finished.
