Q1 - softies
I finished those bears while ago but for some reason I did not share here. Since it is the last call to link up finishes for Q1 I'm making up this post.
Here is my original list: Q1 FAL list
I used both sides of the material.
I modified the original pattern for a bear. Just enlarged the ears and nose.
It was not the best quarter but that's fine 2/5

Q1 - cushion 5X
Here we go! My first finish from Q1 FAL list.
I got this idea when I was making the list back in January.
It doesn't have perfectly matching zipper but it is hidden anyway :) I'm breaking up my own rules.
See. The back is just plain and simple.
The whole design is pretty simple. It is a gift for male for 50th birthday so I was not aiming for anything girly and fancy. Each cross represents 10 years. 50 = 5 crosses. Plus the cushion is 50x50cm. The binding finished the cover pretty nicely.
1 goal down, 4 to go .. I'll be linking up with:

Q1 FAL list
Let's make a list! Q1 FAL list. I'm taking different approach this year. Have you noticed? :)
I'll stop putting on my wishful list and actually concentrate on projects I want to give or use. Plus there is not enough space on that board :)
1. softies - well that is ongoing project. I almost made it but still need to fill up and finish.
2. bag redo - you could also see that one last year. The plan is turn it into fanny pack. I need to put my phone and keys somewhere when I don't have pockets available.
3. cushions - that is my OMG goal for January. Still untouched.
4. pouches - not much progress on this pile either
5. cushion 5x - that is my latest idea. Make a Bday cushion for someone who turns 50 soon with 5 X on it. We'll see.
That's it. Sorry for bad light but daylight is something I don't get too much lately and I only have few hours left to link up my list. Yeah, nothing like a deadline pressure!

Q4 - love wall hanging
This LOVE wall hanging has been on my FAL list for a while. I pieced the top together in 2014 as an 10 years anniversary project and finally it is finished.
At first I wanted FMQ it but as the time was passing by and my FMQ practice kept at zero level I changed my plans and I done some matchstick quilting instead.
Matchstick quilting is pretty simple but time consuming. The texture it makes is so worthy though.
Here is a peak at the back. I put hanging corners at all of them plus a hanging sleeve on top.
I use interfacing which is faster and easier option than a classic fabric.
We have already hanged it and we like the result. As usual I do see some minor mistakes and I would change a bit here or there but that's just part of the process. I better concentrate on the next UFO :)

2018 FAL Q4 list
Let's face it Q3 was not the best one just like Q2. I'm still trying to restart my sewjo and blogjo :) but somehow the real life is taking over. I kind of miss my alternative creative and blogging space so maybe it's the right time to actually do something. Therefore I just keep my Q3 list and add one more thing. Pouches. Yeah I still have that pile of in progress pouches I wanted to finish in September.
Here is recap photo collage of those poor projects I keep "dragging" from quarter to quarter.
I actually finished 2 bears. I have also alternate the pattern as the material called for Koala bear. I already gave one away and my current pile in progress looks like this.
Besides my FAL list ideas of projects are growing. Bits and pieces are jumping out of drawer. I gave away almost all pouches I made so I need to stock up for future gifts for sure. Plus you know those promises we make. Oh yeah, sure, I can make this for you and also that, yeah, sure. What is your favorite color? Blue-sky talking? Sounds familiar? I really mean to make all those things ... one day :)

2018 FAL Q3 list
Let's face it! Only 1 finish for quarter 2. I can just copy my Q2 FAL list once again and give it another try.
I have only added one more project to the list. I would like to up cycle this bag. I already washed it and the idea is to turn it into funny pack. Will that work? I don't know but I just don't want to throw it away. It is all worn out at the top. It was well used and loved.
So here is recap photos of my projects. If you interested you can read more in Q2 list.
1- love wall hanging - just needs to add binding and hanging sleeve
2 - animals wall hanging - any progress would be good!
3 - optical illusion
4 - bears
5 - bag up cycling
So the goal is clear. Save the basket! Don't get side tracked with another project :) Do it!

Q2 - Echino bag
Have you noticed May? Somehow it passed me by. Never mind we have June. I finally made my bag and I'm already using it. I can finally tick off first project from my Q2 list.
I actually just made the top and reused the inside. My favorite old bag just needed a face lift. I used the old zippers and handle too. You can see first version of this bag here.
See the old pink lining? It still looks fine even after washing.
Zippers fits well too.
The reason I replaced the old fabric was that it got all worn out. I haven't used any particular pattern. It is simple messenger type of bag.
The new addition I made are front pockets.
Just right for my work keys and sunglasses.
Hot pink details are still my fav thing.
I'll be linking up with FAL2018 and TGIFF, buttons on side bar.
Things don't seem to work like they used to. Sorry for not replying to your comments I kind of found them late :)

2018 FAL Q2 list
I don't want to miss the opportunity to join in for Q2 so I made up my list. Two projects from previous quarter plus a new challenge which I named for myself as "save the basket"
- love wall hanging is all quilted and the binding is also ready
- there was no progress on Echino bag but I really need a new bag :)
That is the basket I'm going to save :) Laundry basket which is filled with clothes to be repaired and some UFOs as well.
- animal wall hanging, some of you might remember this project which I started a long time ago. I do have the back side as well and the batting ready. I just need to take next step baste+quilt it.
- optical illusion, project I made as part of Pantone challenge
- bears, there is also a box filled with leftovers to be used. The plan was to make some bears out of it.
I decided to keep a track of all quarters this year. Those crossed off projects look so good :D and any progress is good!
