Cushion insert

My cushion cover needed an insert. Someone shared this tut while ago and I wanted to use some batting leftovers for it.

I cut the main "square" a bit smaller than the cover. I wasn't really measuring.

My batting was not so puffy like the one they used in tut but once I sewed all around it looked all right.

I used zig zag stitch.

I used just one piece for the cover. No marking just few wonky zig zag lines.

When I know it doesn't matter if the lines are not so straight I don't mark or measure. Then I smile at such imperfection :)

It fits well into the cushion cover but it should have been a bit bigger.

It is pretty flat when you look at it from side. I'm yet to give it a test sleep :)

  1. I would never have thought to make my own cushion insert - that's pretty cool, and a great way to use up batting scraps!

  5. It looks great and like an awesome way to use up batting scraps. Would it be hard to unzip a bit and stuff in more batting?

  9. Love your pillows. Thanks for coming by and seeing my cat quilt. I am planning to do circles. Kinda procrastanating about it! I noticed a circle quilt on your header. I seriously just need to take the plunge and do it!

  12. I love the cover, but part of me is sad that you hid the adorable gnomes on the inside! :)

  13. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!
When you say you thought it was too small, do you mean it needed more batting inside to make it fatter?
I hope your sleep test was a success! :-)
