October goal

Last minute decision to join ALYoF :)
It is something I would like to finish this month. It is quilted pouch to become.
It might look like a small goal but based on my latest pace and limits it is just right.

Q3 - Scrappy cushion

There is something about last minute finish that I can not resist. Unfortunately for you that means no daylight available :)

Over the weekend I picked up zipper. I didn't have any long enough zipper so I used endless type. As you can see in above picture I topstitched on both sides but I decided to make hidden zipper as usual. No I didn't unpick that topstitch, lol.

I went with binding option for clean finish.

I did not measure. To me it is the right size but I have to make insert pillow for it since I don't have any in this size. You can find WiP posts here and there.

It is not only my September goal of ALYoF but it is also on my Q3 FAL list. Once again I was only able to finish two projects during the quarter.

September ALYoF deja vu

This year I'm not very good at meeting my goals. No August goal achieved. At least I made some progress. I have already started with quilting and for a moment I thought I'm going to make it on time :)

I'm having hard time to take pictures of my quilting. There are some straight lines going from the side and some squares are crossed. I'm not marking it. I just go with the flow. Let's make it my ALYoF goal one more time.

As a side product I pieced this pouch to be piece. I'll be adding some quilting to it as well.

Have you noticed there are tons of things happening in the blogland right now?

Who can resist those cute dogs? Not me, I have ordered my fabrics today!

Plus there are tons of inspiration in Fabri-Quilt New block blog hop. Don't you love those blocks by Yvonne and Jayne? I do.

That's not all but these are my top 3. There is no time to be wasting time this season!

August goal

For a moment I thought I keep my designer's wall empty. It didn't last too long. At first I added some triangles in perfect OCD arrangement. Than those Christmas flying geese jumped on board.

This is where I'm at. My grey/bright obsession is still going strong so I choose my cushion cover as my August goal for ALYoF.

Plus here is little experiment.

I took little scraps and cut them up into tiny pieces.

I put them on piece of interfacing and iron it.

All squished and ready for the next stage.

Goal achieved

Did you know my middle name is Procrastination? I did not work on any other projects but I was doing many little things just to avoid this beast. I pieced the two rows yesterday and finished today. Hurray!

This finally makes my May/June/July goal of ALYoF complete. The fence makes pretty quilting pattern don't you think?

And the sun is going down :)

The birds are still my favorite.

I also like the flowers. Especially the orange one.

Not all the points are perfect. Look at that blue tulip which is missing some points, oops.

I have the batting ready and the B side as well so I need to move on into quilting stage which usually takes even longer than piecing.

And that's the end of story :) The full moon took over the sun and since it's Friday I'm linking up with Finish it up and more.

 

Selvages and scraps

Did you hear the news? I'll be sharing my project during the Selvage along! Now it's time to share how we store selvages. Please link up!

Nothing fancy on my side. I got most of the selvages from my friend. She brought it in plastic bag and I kept it that way. I used the majority of it already.

Plus I have some in my drawer as well. I never said I'm organized, lol.

I do have some ideas what I'll be making but I need to finish my ALYoF goal first. I decided I need two more flowers so here they are (in progress).

I also got bag of scraps from my dear friend Monika. She knows I love scraps so she pass hers onto me. I really want to start playing with those too but FINISH FIRST!!! That's what I have on my mind :) Here is little teaser for you though.

I'm still unclear which spelling to use - selvages or selvedges which is closer to the edge :)

I feel sorry for you since you get to see this over again and again :)

BTW as I was ironing the kissing birds block I burned the eye (sequin), eeek so there is only french knot left. Good for me it only made the sequin's hole bigger but it didn't leave any mess on iron or fabric.

Here is where I'm at. So once again my goal for ALYoF is to piece these blocks to finally create a quilt top (wall hanging).

May/June goal

My goal for ALYoF remains the same as for May. To piece the top of Elephant parade together.

I definitely succeed on the "Make Epic Shit" goal but it is something I could not link up.
I quit my job and I already found a new one which I started on June 1st. Yay! I'll keep you posted how is that going. I don't want to get too excited. I'm happy about that change that's for sure.

I also pieced quilt top together. First one this year! I'll share more about that soon.

I felt so behind with my feed but I'm all caught up. I realized I don't need to leave comment on every post I'm reading. Sometimes I simply do not know what to add or how to respond.

I haven't managed to look at the quilts at Bloggers' quilt festival yet. I seen the posts coming but there were more important things to do. I didn't have any quilt to submit this time around.

That pretty much sums up my May.

Back to my project. I decided I'll make the eyes for parade out of spangle. That is one giant French knot on spangle you are looking at, lol.

I have never heard the word spangle before so I hope my dictionary doesn't lie. Do you really call these things spangle?
