Le Challenge - Passion
This month's theme for Le Challenge is Passion.
There are many ways how you can interpret the theme.
What are my passions when it comes to quilting/sewing ? Hmmmm, I'm going with:
- color order
- scraps (yes, those are the tiny triangles from Elephant parade blocks)
- matchstick quilting
- hand quilting
- pouches
- matchy zippers
But my BIGGEST passion is probably to combine them all.
I made this pouch out of one exterior piece and one lining piece. There is no seam at the bottom which is my fav type of pouch. You can find the tut here.
The back is pretty simple but it still has pretty texture.

Susie
yum yum... you do love your pouches, don't you?!
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous - you always come up with such fun and creative ideas :D If I were doing a theme of passion there would definitely be chocolate involved ... LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat is a very beautiful combination of all your passions Vera! Simply stunning and so well done! I particularly love the way you used the purple big stitch quilting right through the purple patch... it is as if it symbolizes how passion is contagious! It makes me want to try it too!
ReplyDeleteGreat interpretation of the challenge - really like the purple stitching!
ReplyDeleteOK. Next time I have too many scraps, I will try to not make a pincushion and instead make a snazzy pouch like one of yours.
ReplyDeleteI love that this is a culmination of all of your favorite things! Short of tiny scraps (I save them, but I can't say I love them since I rarely find a project in which to use them), I'd say my favorite quilty things are right in line with yours! Maybe I'll try to put my tiny scraps to use and make a little zip, too! Thanks for the inspiration. I especially like your quilting. The pairing of machine and hand quilting works so well with this!
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! Also, how you used all your quilting passions = so much fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to put them all together. I agree with Mara, you forgot the zip pull passion. That is one of the first things I remember reading on your blog!
ReplyDeleteLovely! The colors are excellent and I love that pop of purple quilting!
