Scrappy WiP
Playing out with scraps. First a bit random layout. Nope.
Second try. Better but not right.
Oh no, OCD mode. I was left out with some scraps and that was definitely not my plan so I slept on it. I added few squares today and started over.
That's probably final version. No need to spend more time on it. Those squares are 2" so there won't be much left once sewed together anyway :)
I'm also working on eyes for all the animals from Elephant parade. These seems all right.
This one is a GIANT eye but it made me smile. I'll adjust that for sure.
Thank you for clarifying how to call these black things I'm using for eye pupil. I'll call them sequins from now on :)

Very cute frog and turtle!!
ReplyDeletethe final version is definitely the best of them all. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those rainbow HST, random is a lot harder to do than one thinks.
ReplyDeleteThe hsts are pretty but those little creatures are ADORABLE!
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your progress with these HST's! The 'scattered' value is fun to play with, love your last version! very cute little animals too!
ReplyDeleteI really like your random layout at the beginning, honestly, and also the layout when you added in more blocks. The giant eye for the turtle made me chuckle!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the rainbow scraps!
ReplyDeleteI personally love the second version--but I've been in a haphazard, crazy aesthetic mood lately. I like the one you decided upon, too. And those animals--the huge eyes are actually super adorable! They will look awesome all put together :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the first layout! Perhaps you should just keep them to play with instead of fridge magnets!? Take a photo of each variation??? Great fun whatever you do with them as are those wide eyed critters. Thanks for linking up to #scraptastictuesday
ReplyDeleteI love both the rainbow HSTs and the animals - I think the giant eye on the turtle is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYour turtle looks like it has just seen my sewing room. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pretty scrap layouts with Oh Scrap!
Love your rainbow hst's! Those are going to be sweet... A bag or pouch? Of course, I think your turtle and frog are adorable. And such fun eyes!
ReplyDeleteI bought the elephant parade pattern because I really, really want to make a pink elephant pillow. Sigh, another on the to-do list. I like your rainbow triangle creation, will it be a pillow?
ReplyDeleteisn't it fun seeing how different layouts really change the look of the block. Love what you have decided on in the end :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of drawn to that first one, Vera :) But that last one is very cool too! Seeing your process is always fun :) And the frog and turtle are just adorable! I'm kind of digging those big eyeballs :D
ReplyDeleteI love all of the different layouts using the rainbow HST and seeing how you went from your initial layout to your final one.
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors with the grey. ANd your critters are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteLove those bright fabrics against the darker neutrals Vera! It was fun seeing you play with the layout too.
ReplyDeleteI had a good time playing with the eyes on the Elephant Parade animals too. It was funny how the slightest alteration changed their expressions. It was a lot of fun to make that quilt!
I love the scrappy first one best of all . I like the complete randomness of it.
ReplyDeleteYour turtle and frog are quite adorable - eyes really make the critter :D I'm glad I've been doing a bit of collecting of grey prints in the last while, although I haven't actually used any yet because I'm still in the collecting and deciding stage :D I find your grey + bright combo really striking - and fun!
ReplyDeleteI do like your final version. Love the elephant parade!
ReplyDeletemr turtle made me laugh, i think he has his eye one something.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the turtle's eye is so big as he is surprised by the tiny size of the HSTs.
