So I pieced and pieced and added a bit here and there. I ended up with 13 rows with 18 triangles in it. Well the end pieces are not triangles and I used some scraps which I had from all the cutting. It is nearly 53x70". This is the original way I look at it but I like it the other way round even more :-)
There really isn't top or bottom. It works both ways. How many triangles do you see? Many for sure :-)
I can't resist back side photo. Thank you my 1/4 inch patchwork foot for those even seams :-)
Now it come the crucial task. Basting and quilting, eeek! I hope I won't ruin it since I just love the way this thing turned up.
Since I finished this top last night (Friday) I'm still linking up to TGIFF and Crazy mom quilts.

My tip for cheap storage idea would be Scrappy vinyl pouches and one side of crib which I use as rack. More pics of my corner here.
Lovely result from the TQA. I joined in yesterday, and like you am adding an extra row , and trying to use up those scraps. Well done on completing your top.

ReplyDeleteIt looks great, Vera. I agree it looks fantastic whichever way you look at it - upside down or right way up. Probably even on its side.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous - it is really yummy :)
ReplyDeleteNothing short of awesome!! Beautifully done, the back looks great! :) I tried sewing mine together yesterday but was having one of those days where NOTHING lined up. . . so I walked away for the day. Hopefully today the seam matching fairy will visit!! LOL
ReplyDeleteVera, this is fabulous! I tried to do something like this with one of my triangle quilts, but I couldn't get the layered look to work (didn't try patterned fabric though -- brilliant!). Can't wait to see how you quilt this!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous Vera! And i love seeing the backside of quilt tops, so thanks for showing us!
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts on how you're going to quilt it?
love it! The colour combination is perfect :-)
ReplyDeleteIt *is* yummy - right side up or upside-down! Is it hanging from a clothesline? I'm so glad the weather is co-operating now so I can take some of my pictures outside too :) The 6 feet of blinding snow in my back yard wasn't a very good backdrop for 6 months, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love this. The warm grays really set off the other colors you used. Great fabric selection!
ReplyDeleteYou never disappoint me, Vera! Love the fabrics and those pops of white and teal with the secondary design. You are sew right. That quilt looks great upside down and downside up!
ReplyDeleteWow, Vera your quilt looks lovely! The back is as great as the front.

ReplyDeleteoooooh, that dark purple floral print is one of my favorite!! and so hard to use, i haven't been able to put it in much; this is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, once again, Vera. Your colour sense is incredibly developed, and the balance you've achieved here is quite incredible.
ReplyDeleteYour vinyl pouches are still on my to-do list, I even have the fabric and zipper's picked out. And awesome idea for the crib side, I was going to make the bed part into a table, now I know what to do with the sides! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteStunning results. You're right, it really has no top and bottom, but I also liked it the other way.....funny how that works. Thanks for the storage tip. You're corner looks so bright and cheerful. The perfect place to find inspiration.
