Remember those scraps from Elephant parade? One was just right for this month's Le Challenge - Direction theme. It would be too big for mug rug but just right to cover up paper tin which resulted into pencil holder :)
The size was really just right.
Here is spot where the geese meet. Cool!
I also quilted other two fused pieces and this will become mug rug.
Side A.
Side B.
Matchstick quilting is just perfect for these small projects and raw edge scraps. Don't forget to link up with Scraptastic Tuesday too.
I'm also linking up with Finish it up Friday!
Wow, the geese match up so perfectly - what a great use of scraps. :)
ReplyDeleteCute idea for the cup cover!! Love that! Also the solids and matchstick together are an A+.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use all those scraps of the elephant parade. Turned out so well. Love the cup cover.
ReplyDeleteYour matchstick quilting is awesome, it just gives the perfect texture to the little quilts.
ReplyDeleteGreat makes. My off cuts normally end up as mug rugs or windowsill runners. I love making up something quick and useful
ReplyDeleteI love your modern take on traditional patchwork Vera - very chic.

ReplyDeleteLovely Vera!
ReplyDeleteI like the pen holder, and how amazing that the geese line up perfectly. That will look great on your desk.
ReplyDeleteI wonder whether a bit more interfacing might mean it could stand on its own.
I agree, these are perfect use of matchstick quilting. Love that pencil holder cover. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWell done Vera - did you go through all your cylinders to find one to fit the geese 😜
ReplyDeleteI love your mug rugs too
Nice job matching your points, and great matchstick quilting! I like doing a similar design (mine isn't quite as dense as yours because I'm lazy :D) - I call it organic quilting so a little wobbliness is encouraged - and I definitely do wobbly well, lol!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects... I love the matchstick quilting with them. Your style is amazing!

Love it and great tip to use matchstick quilting on raw edge scraps - I'm sure Leanne will approve! Thanks for joining up to #scraptastictuesday
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely projects. Love the scale of them. Inspired me to try something on a much smaller scale than a quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh what a gorgeous use of scraps, they are both beautiful quilts in their own right, and they look lovely on a mug!
ReplyDeleteWow!! That's brilliant and it fits so perfectly! Thanks for linking to le challenge :)
ReplyDeleteLove these items. I've never heard the phrase matchstick quilting before but I love the phrase and LOVE the result!
