May/June goal

My goal for ALYoF remains the same as for May. To piece the top of Elephant parade together.

I definitely succeed on the "Make Epic Shit" goal but it is something I could not link up.
I quit my job and I already found a new one which I started on June 1st. Yay! I'll keep you posted how is that going. I don't want to get too excited. I'm happy about that change that's for sure.

I also pieced quilt top together. First one this year! I'll share more about that soon.

I felt so behind with my feed but I'm all caught up. I realized I don't need to leave comment on every post I'm reading. Sometimes I simply do not know what to add or how to respond.

I haven't managed to look at the quilts at Bloggers' quilt festival yet. I seen the posts coming but there were more important things to do. I didn't have any quilt to submit this time around.

That pretty much sums up my May.

Back to my project. I decided I'll make the eyes for parade out of spangle. That is one giant French knot on spangle you are looking at, lol.

I have never heard the word spangle before so I hope my dictionary doesn't lie. Do you really call these things spangle?

  1. I would have no idea that those are called spangle, but I guess I'm just not a spangley kind of girl. :) I sure hope your new job settles in nicely, and I am so looking forward to when you can share your epic...

  3. It looks like it could be a Sequin .... is it very flat? We decorate dance costumes with them, or very dressy tops.
Hope the new job is a keeper!

  4. Looks like a sequin to me, spangle sounds fun though. All the best for your new job!

  5. We call them sequins, but I know what you mean!
My elephants were bind - no eyes at all.
I know what you mean about catching up. Sometimes it is OK to just skip the non-essential stuff. Everyone understands.

  8. I like the word spangle - it sounds shiny and fun, lol! I killed myself laughing over "Make epic shit" - that about sounds like my sewing progress for the last several months - my sewing mojo is on holiday and I just can't get into the swing of anything !

I'm loving the pictures for your Elephant Parade quilt - I can't wait to see them assembled - either into an actual quilt top - or even just set together on the design wall - that is going to be a gorgeous project!

  9. I've always heard them called sequins, but spangle seems to fit, too! Hope the new job doesn't keep you out of the sewing room. The elephants are so cute!
