Selvages and scraps

Did you hear the news? I'll be sharing my project during the Selvage along! Now it's time to share how we store selvages. Please link up!

Nothing fancy on my side. I got most of the selvages from my friend. She brought it in plastic bag and I kept it that way. I used the majority of it already.

Plus I have some in my drawer as well. I never said I'm organized, lol.

I do have some ideas what I'll be making but I need to finish my ALYoF goal first. I decided I need two more flowers so here they are (in progress).

I also got bag of scraps from my dear friend Monika. She knows I love scraps so she pass hers onto me. I really want to start playing with those too but FINISH FIRST!!! That's what I have on my mind :) Here is little teaser for you though.

I'm still unclear which spelling to use - selvages or selvedges which is closer to the edge :)

  1. Good luck getting your ALYOF goal finished first; you have some pretty distractions! I look forward to seeing what you create. :)

  3. I like your little flower blocks - very cute! You have more will power than I have. I would have immediately started playing with those scraps! Thanks for linking up with Oh Scrap!

  4. Selvedge is the old english word and what I learned. Selvage is more of a US take on the word but either way I love those projects that use them so creatively. I never seem to keep mine though - great to be gifted a bag!

  5. I use selvedge because it is a self edge. Both are correct, so you can choose whichever you like.
Can I count the sew along bag I already made?

  7. I like the bag storage because you can see in from the sides if you're looking for something particular!

  8. I have a couple of tacky plastic containers in my sewing room, salvaged from the kitchen, that I use for my selvages (and as you can see, I call them selvages, not selvedges) :) I started saving them a few years ago, but I cringe when I think of how many kms of those pretty bits I've thrown away over the decades I've been sewing! Some manufacturers are starting to treat us by printing cute pictures on their selvages - those are nice finds :D
