I'm taking part in Ten Things This Summer. If you want to join in you have until July 15th to make your list. I made mine on Saturday and I'm willing to stick with it. Today's WiP is all about those numbers on the list.
#1 Diamond Tread - I passed the basting stage which is good. I started with quilting but it's not smooth ride. There is bulky part on the block and my machine was jumping over it missing stitches. I don't know if I pressed the seams in wrong direction or when I went wrong.
#2 Ballerinas - I had those houses pieced for some time. I just needed to press the seams and cut the shape out. I'm using template made out of square. I seen this on Elizabeth's blog. I prepared the side stripes and white stripes for roof. Whenever I feel like working on this one I have it prepared.
#3 Circles - This will be new crib size quilt I'll work on once #1 finished. I played with the layout. I had to find out how many circles I actually got. Not sure if I go random or organized way.
#9 Gallery - in progress. I set up Quilt page.
#10 Service - I contacted my dealer on Monday and arranged all the necessities. My Brother went on vacation. He'll get nice massage and some oil treatment too. He's coming back within few days and hopefully full of energy and ready to work again. So yeah, you understood right. I'm without machine for few days so I have some time to prepare and precut fabrics.
It goes well considering I only have the list for few days. Call me Action Man, ehmm Action Woman?! Sounds like Wonder Woman. Never mind.

Sunday Stash - unexpected addition
I haven't bought any new fabrics lately so I was thinking that I'll dive deep into my stash and show you something I haven't shared before. But to my surprise I have some pretty pieces to share. On Friday I met with my sewing buddies and one of them brought me stack of her leftovers. She said scraps but these are pretty decent size so I wouldn't call them scraps. We meet almost every two months and it's always a blast. We have little trading going on between us. I usually trade for jewellery I made or something I made and the ladies like. I said it before and I say it again. Sewing buddies are the best!
While grocery shopping I noticed pack of zippers. Not a fancy packing but great prize. I got two just to try them out. They don't usually sell this kind of stuff in grocery store so I was a bit surprised but I can never pass on good zipper deal.
Well that's it. Linking up with Sunday Stash. This time over @ Pretty Bobbins

Ten Things This Summer
This morning I read Anita's post. That was only a step to join in the fun over @ a Quilting Life. The idea is to write down 10 things you want to work on this summer. I done something similar in June and it worked well for me. It's great self motivation plus encouraging comments are like a fuel for my sewing engine. I had to think about which projects I should put down to keep it real and doable.
#1 Diamond Tread - my latest WiP
#2 Ballerina's Neighborhood - due in September
#3 Make a crib size quilt for my girl. Use those circles I have for almost a year.
#4 Make some more vinyl pouches and try out other projects with vinyl too.
#5 Get back on track with Skill Builder BoM
#6 Stay on track with A Sew On BoM
#7 Get those UFOs out of drawer. All kinds of pouches.
#8 Make some more projects out of Patchwork, Please!
#9 Add photo gallery of quilts and others to my blog.
#10 Send my machine to service. It deserves some professional cleaning and service.

TGIFF - mug rugs
Instead of quilting I tackled down the pile of unfinished mug rugs. I had four more to go. Mostly just put the binding on. Cute design by The Patchsmith. Check out her pattern store as she has some more to offer. Don't you just love those things?
Since I mostly have new followers let me share those previously made. It all started as little something to go with tote I made. I used the same fabrics and since it was Bday gift it felt appropriate to make the mug rug with cake on it. As I was preparing the fabrics I cut some more. Ten in total to be precise. I thought it's just fine little gift for any occasion. I usually make last minute gifts. Procrastination is nothing new to me but these days I have some gifts ready to go. Yay!

WiP - Diamond Tread
As expected my sewing is slowing down. Last week I pieced all the blocks together and it took me a week to add the remaining strips to sides. I have the backing fabric and batting ready. I'll be using cotton batting (local supply) for the very first time. I'm making crib size 45"x 60". I like the straight line quilting in the original pattern so that's what I'll be doing. So far I really love the pattern (Diamond Tread) and the color combo. I'm looking forward to see all the other versions out there too.
Once I'm done with the quilting I'd like to make something for Le Challenge. The theme for July is Toffee. I'll play with some leather scraps again.
