WiP - Diamond Tread

As expected my sewing is slowing down. Last week I pieced all the blocks together and it took me a week to add the remaining strips to sides. I have the backing fabric and batting ready. I'll be using cotton batting (local supply) for the very first time. I'm making crib size 45"x 60". I like the straight line quilting in the original pattern so that's what I'll be doing. So far I really love the pattern (Diamond Tread) and the color combo. I'm looking forward to see all the other versions out there too.

Once I'm done with the quilting I'd like to make something for Le Challenge. The theme for July is Toffee. I'll play with some leather scraps again.

  2. I love that areoplane print, so cool! I also have been meaning to say I really like the new look of your blog :) I'm using wool batting for the first time, cotton has been my usual choice with a bamboo sometimes but I want to make some warmer quilts :)

  9. Your quilt top looks great!

I checked out that challenge and when I saw the Toffee theme, the only thing I could think of was toffee apple ... or toffee coloured leather - just like that piece you have :D I think I would follow the theme by eating toffee candy while I was sewing - I wonder if that would count? LOLOL!

  10. I love how this turned out. Now I'm really turning over the idea of using mostly solids with one print when I get around to making a quilt from this pattern. Thanks for the inspiration!
