Welcome to my stop of Pin it Blog hop. Thank you Madame Samm for organizing and Kristen for being our cheerleader! Procrastination is nothing new to me so no wonder I made make my pincushion just yesterday. I had this cake on mind. It's inspired by mug rug pattern called Coffee and Cake by The Patchsmith. Check her pattern store for more cute designs. Well the first idea was to make it out of felt. I'm sure you seen some cute felt cakes out there BUT I had no felt in suitable color. Yikes! I had to find alternative. Isn't using scraps the best alternative? So here it is - Scrapalicious cake. Yummy!
I wasn't happy about those visible stitches so I covered them up with hand stitches - chain stitch. |
Two years ago I used to make pincushions filled with foam. I was adding magnet to the bottom. They were all pretty I still have one myself but I feel like it makes the pins dull so I'm not using that foam any more.
Thank you for dropping by and I hope you are not superstitious as it's Friday 13th and here is the full schedule:
*UPDATE* I used THIS tut to make the felt cream
