Plum Crazy - giveaway
Welcome to my stop on Plum Crazy Hopalong. When reading the other posts and comments I decided to do giveaway as well since you guys like the pattern by Laura @ Quokka Quilts. There really is no reason to dislike it. It is very versatile pattern and leaves no scraps. It uses up either 6 or 9 fat quarters.
You can go with few large prints which add interest. Above Jungle Ave fabrics would give it nice modern look, don't you think?
Or you can go all sweet and romantic with this Powder Puff Duchess Metallic bundle by Sarah Alsan (Northcott Fabrics). I suggest Kona stone as background :) I need to get some for sure.
Now onto the giveaway. Leave me a comment telling me what kind of QAL does Laura currently runs on her blog. Yes, you better check her out!
I'm telling her I'll join in from the minute I joined her site but I still haven't made a single block. Bad Vera!
Anyone who follows my blog can get a second entry. Just tell me you do so. Giveaway ends on Sunday Oct 12th. I'll announce the winner on Monday.
If you would like to grab a copy of Plum Crazy right away, use the code Plum20 to get 20% off. This week only!

I really like that design - it looks like a perfect way to use up collections of fat quarters , and I love it when a designer comes up with a pattern that makes such good use of fat quarter cuts without waste :) The quilt that you've pictured - is it a 6 FQ design, and the 9 is more a square? I'll have to check out the other blog hop participants to see what they've come up with :) (BTW - she's doing a free motion QAL, lol)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, that's the original 6 patch design plus borders to make it twin/single size. :) Ha. You called me a designer. I'm grinning from ear to ear - thank you! And thanks Vera!
DeleteHi Vera! I will be spending more time on Sandra's site now (thanks for the link and nudge). Her free motion QAL seems like a great idea! :)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't joined the free motion quilt along, but I certainly would need to build my skills in that area. It is next on my to-do-list!

I already have my FQ picked out for this pattern! FMQAL!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the other posts that it is terrific when a pattern uses all of the fabric with little to no waste. This seems to fit that bill perfectly. I'm not much of a FMQ because I don't take the time to practice. But the QAL on this might just change my mind. Thank you for the chance to win. I love your blog as a source of inspiration, and it brightens my day to see the things you are working on.
ReplyDeleteHi Vera - Just wanted to let you know that I did order the pattern. But, there was no place to put the code for the 20% discount. No matter as it is not a very expensive pattern and, more importantly, I like to support independent designers when I can. Thanks again for bringing this pattern to our attention and for your inspirational blog. Have a great day!
