Q3 - Cherry Christmas cushion finished

I finished my September goal 3 days late. Still in time to link as Q3 FAL finish though. There are still couples of things on my Q3 list and I'm working towards one more.

I stitched around the stars first and I added some pebbles. I tried my best and let me tell you. FMQ for me is anything but relaxing. The machine sounds like machine-gun and it is an adrenalin adventure.

I have so much to learn. Coordinating the speed of machine and hands goes first as my stitches are tiny in some places. I did not experience any tension issues so the back looks pretty much as the front.

It is another cushion to add to our Cherry Christmas deco. You can see the previous one here.
The star pattern is called Round & Round by Thimble Blossoms.

They are double sided. That is why I keep the zipper on the side.

Linking up with TGIFF where Laura shares her latest pattern - giveaway!

  1. Vera, this cushion looks fabulous! And not so Christmassy (is that a word???) that you wouldn't be able to use it for longer. Your quilting looks great too! The pebbles add such wonderful texture :)

  5. I have this pattern as well and I think it looks great on a cushion. I'm with you on the fmq experience. Yours looks pretty good on that cushion though.

  6. Congratulations on the finish! The stars look like a wreath to me, so lots of Christmas symbolism in this pillow - especially if you also think of the pebbles as mini snowballs! :)

  9. Adrenaline adventure is a great way to describe it. I promise the more you do it, the less so it gets! Great choice with the pebbles!

  14. I love pillows, and this one is just awesome, on both sides! Some of my favorite fabrics in it, too! I had to laugh about your description of free motion quilting. ha ha ha

  15. A beautiful pillow! Your quilting looks great too. I can't keep my stitches a consistent length yet either. Some of the are teeny-tiny and some a normal sized. Ah well, one of these days...

  17. If your tension is good, you are an FMQ star! I too like double-sided cushions and I either make the buttons a feature or hide the zipper.
This cushion is lovely. Do you plan to keep it or give it as a present?
